Harold S Haller & Company introduced the Deming Management Principles to the Florida Tile Corporation. Estimated annual savings from one project alone were $1.5 million.

1. Understanding personality preferences of employees.
2. Revealing and eliminating the crippling beliefs of employees.
3. Creating shared values for all employees.
4. Learning to actively listen to employees.
5. Coaching and mentoring as a substitute for judging employees.

These skills were learned and practiced by the senior management at Florida Tile Corporation. In fact Kelly Norton, president of Florida Tile, felt this was the most important message which management had to learn in order to affect the Deming transformation.
